Maha Ganapathi Homam
When the organisers came proclaiming a Ganapathi Homam of this magnitude, we were impressed. How much money, human effort, space, time is needed to organise a function of this great proportions. Great. Many of us wanted to get involved with the managing committee for getting to know they the whole thing is managed.
Getting one lakh coconuts may not be difficult. Many people may offer nuts and all other inputs provided we make proper assessment and put up appeals to the public about the homa dravyam.
Collecting articles, arranging namboothiris for conducting the homam, man power to make arrangements for preparing the homa dravyam are all going to be very difficult. They never had any volunteers, lady volunteers to man the counters. We sent them adequately. But their requirements were not taken care.
Minister sent his best wishes. DGP came and made his offerings. All the dignitaries came, but that is not sufficient. They had no idea about the whole affair. It was a total confusion. The people selected were not honest. They did not collect the money they were supposed to collect. Finally when the final payments are to be made for the expenditure incurred, the organisers were in a quandry. Tempers increased and all unwanted talk ensued.
Ganapathy bhagawan would never have thought that his name would be misused like this by his devotees.
