Unemployment in Kerala

Whether getting an employment commensurate to your qualifications or getting an educational loan or an agricultural loan, everything is politicised in Kerala. Recently a gang of goondas in the pretext of DYFI smashed the windows of several branches of public sector banks in the state for the reason, a girl who committed suicide mentioned in a note left by her that she was frustrated because a bank loan did not come through to enable her to pursue her studies. Bank loan is not anybody's birthright and they are subjected to certain terms and conditions set forth by RBI and if those conditions are not fulfilled there is no reason why a bank should give educational loan. Besides, the manager who gives the loan has to get satisfied about the repaying capacity of the borrower, otherwise he will be unnecessarily penalised.

The finance minister, to satisfy a group of MPs who called on him, annouced that his ministry has waived security or even a guarantor for educational loans upto Rs.7.5 lacs. But with these liberalised conditions, what would make the manager to give the loan.

There were press reports again that a civil engineering post graduate had to accept the job of an attender to earn a living. Again tody there is a press report that an automobile engineering graduate had to accept a job as a watchman of a multistorey building to support his family. Had a bank given a loan to these two, how will they recover the loan amount from the meagre income they earn.

Political parties in opposition use such stories to browbeat the ruling party without any sincerity to redress the problems faced by the people.
Thousands of students suffer because of the inefficiency of the staff in the University offices. Results are manipulated. Degree certificates are not issued in time. Results are not declared in time to enable those who want to pursue studies in other universities.

It seems one of the universities in Kerala gave permission to start a degree course in Christinity related subjects. When the present govt. is busy removing pages indicated to saffronise the educational system here is an attempt to christianise the university.
